We don't need more lawyers, we need more Space Patrolmen.
They're is too much reality in kid's dreams today. I blame us. If your kid told you that he wanted to be Po the Panda when he grew up, you would probably tell him what I would tell mine, "You can't be Po the Panda, but you can be an animator that brings Po the Panda to life."
We do this often enough and we get to where we are today, a bunch of kids that want to grow up to be lawyers, doctors, engineers, and accountants. The world needs these things, and there is nothing wrong with being a doctor, engineer, or accountant.
But, who's going to run the magical candy factory? Who is going to protect the vast reaches of space from alien invasion? Who is going to travel through time to finally answer the question, "Did dinosaurs wear pants?"
I've caught myself telling my kids the real story behind their dreams. I guess at the time I thought I was being helpful. I'll shut up now. Reality will take over soon enough.
Besides, it would be nice to have a member of the family with access to a time machine.
